Vanguard Fire & Security Systems, headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is expanding its Nationwide Services Group.  This group engineers, installs, and services fire suppression and security systems within critical infrastructure facilities for some of the largest corporations in the nation.   Our current hiring is the result of project growth in the Petroleum and Power Generation industries.

A number of talented professionals are sought to join over 100 existing staff who work daily to protect people, property, and products with engineered fire suppression solutions and technologically advanced security offerings.

Backgrounds within the Fire Suppression, Safety, or Security industries are highly desired, along with experience, credentials, and certifications that make you among the best in your field.  Vanguard has openings for:

  • Project Coordinator – will assist in the scheduling of labor, materials and milestones for Vanguard Fire Suppression and Security projects nationwide.  Include with your resume examples of your role in past successful, large-scale, projects.  This position is based in Grand Rapids.
  • Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Engineer – Experienced Life Safety Electrical Engineer.  NICET III or IV preferred.  Advise, Design, Layout and manage assigned projects including code review, submittals, permits, and best practices within your area of expertise.  This position is based in Grand Rapids.
  • Foreman, Lead Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Installer – Seeking a senior level low voltage Installer who can install high end fire suppression systems consisting primarily of detection and control systems.  An ability to lead other crew members, final projects, and coordinate with subs is vital.  This position will involve frequent travel in multiple states and may be based in any state from Texas to Michigan.
  • Safety & Training Director – A credentialed safety professional is sought to maintain Vanguard’s growing safety and training program which includes OSHA compliance, third-party screening administration, fire safety training for large industrial customer needs, staff training and certification, as well as best practices within our industry and all administrative record-keeping requirements.  This position is based in Grand Rapids
