Critical Asset Protection

The Steps We Take Towards Special Hazard Protection

We’ll start by assessing the critical assets you’re concerned with protecting. Whether you have high-tech or sensitive equipment, computers that can’t shut down in the event of an emergency, or high-value assets areas that need protection without the risk of water damage, we have a clean agent system for you. Here are the steps we take to designing and implementing a special hazard protection system that’s ideal for your environment:

Whether you have high-tech or sensitive equipment, computers that can’t shut down in the event of an emergency, or high-value assets areas that need protection without risk of water damage, we have a clean agent system for you. Here are the steps we take to designing and implementing a special hazard protection system that’s ideal for your environment:

Design & Installation

We design your system in strict accordance with drawings, specifications, and any applicable NFPA Standards. All equipment and devices used in your suppression system are UL Listed and Factory Mutual Approved.

Commissioning

With a system designed and installed for you, we’ll move onto the commissioning stage. This stage includes a full operational test of your system. We’ll functionally test every device on the system, and esure the system is functioning as intended. A system acceptance test with the AHJ will be performed, as required by the local regulations.

Operational Training

We want you to be comfortable with your special hazards fire suppression system, which is why we’ll provide your team members with all necessary operational training. This covers any control system operation, trouble procedures, abort procedures, emergency procedures, safety requirements, and a demonstration of the system, excluding agent release.

Vanguard Fire & Security Systems offers a variety of clean agent products, ensuring that we can help our clients protect any critical asset in a way that safe, for your assets, for your employees, and for the environment. Click the dropdown for a closer look at each product.

ANSUL® INERGEN®

Asul INERGEN is an effective fire extinguishing agent composed of three naturally occurring gases: nitrogen, argon, and carbon dioxide. These gases extinguish fire by lowering the oxygen content below the level that supports combustion, while still allowing a person to breathe in a reduced oxygen atmosphere. This makes INERGEN a safe, non-corrosive fire extinguishing agent for a variety of fires and applications. INERGEN is designed for protection against Class A, B, and C fires, and is FM and UL/ULC listed and approved.

Applications: Cultural and historical sites, hospitals, major medical facilities, museums and art galleries, telecommunications, computer and data processing facilities, and more.

FM-200®

FM-200 is a colorless, non-toxic gas well-suited to protect high-value assets in areas that are occupied, and in locations where clean-up of other agents is problematic. FM-200 leaves no residue and is safe for use in occupied spaces. The agent’s primary extinguishing mechanism is heat absorption and is FM and UL/ULC listed and approved.

Applications: Bank vaults, rare book stores, telephone exchanges, communication centers, flammable liquid storage, libraries, test laboratories, and more.

3M NOVEC 1230

Especially suited to suppress fires in areas where electronic systems cannot be shut down in an emergency, the NOVEC 1230 Clean Agent SyStem quickly suppresses fires and protects sensitive equipment without causing harm to people or the environment. It is a clear, colorless agent that is non-toxic, has zero ozone depletion potential, and an atmospheric lifetime of just five days. Novec 1230 fire protection fluid is safe for people, safe for the planet, and safe for your high-value critical assets. It is FM approved and UL/ULC listed an approved, and effective on Class A, B, and C fires.

Applications: Data processing centers, tape storage vaults, electronic areas with sensitive or irreplaceable equipment, transportation, telecommunications, military systems including combat vehicles and marine engine rooms and more.

Applications: Bank vaults, rare book stores, telephone exchanges, communication centers, flammable liquid storage, libraries, test laboratories, and more.

HIGH-PRESSURE C02

CO2 is a non-conductive, non-corrosive gas that leaves no residue. It can be professionally designed to fit any size application. CO2 quickly penetrates all parts of a machine and collector to suppress even a deep-seated fire in seconds. It will not contaminate expensive metalworking oils or fluids, and in many cases, a machine can return to service just minutes after discharge. Properly designed carbon dioxide systems will suppress Class A, B, and C fire hazards. High-pressure CO2 is FM and UL/ULC listed and approved.

Applications: Additive manufacturing equipment, cutting and forming tools, heavy machinery, industrial mist/dust collectors, vaults, open pits, ovens, engine rooms, coating machines, and more.

MINI-BULK LOW PRESSURE C02

Mini-Bulk Low-Pressure Carbon Dioxide Systems provide the same benefits of CO2 fire suppression while bridging the gap between high-pressure cylinders and low-pressure bulk tanks, offering capacities of 1,000 and 1,500 lb. Tanks are configured vertically to save floor space and are designed to be filled in place. Mini-bulk tanks provide protection for non-occupied total flood local application hazards, hose reels and other custom designs like inerting or spurt systems. They are suitable for Class A, B, or C fires, and are FM and UL listed and approved.

Applications: Printing presses, transformer vaults, open pits, dip tanks, rolling mills, exhaust and fume handling systems, flammable gas or liquid storage areas, generators, and more.

BULK LOW PRESSURE C02

Bulk Low-Pressure Carbon Dioxide Systems are ideal for non-occupied fire hazards requiring large amounts of extinguishing agent in a limited space. One bulk tank can store up to 46 tons of carbon dioxide, allowing the system to provide effective distribution and multiple discharge capabilities between recharges as an economical option. Bulk Low-Pressure Carbon Dioxide Systems are FM approved and listed and will suppress Class A, B, or C fires.

Applications: Transformer vaults/electrical cabinets, open pits, dip tanks, rolling mills, coatin machines, flammable gas or liquid storage areas, inerting applications, and more.

WATER MIST

High-pressure water mist fire suppression systems use small water droplets to control, suppress, or extinguish fires. The effectiveness of a water mist system depends on its spray characteristics, but advantages of this suppression system, when compared to gaseous agents and traditional sprinkler systems include: immediate activation, minimized water damage, environmentally safe, no problems with toxicity, and high efficiency in fire suppression.
